Super Mario Sunshine ~ Delfino Plaza ~ Sunshine Madness

Super Mario Sunshine ~ Delfino Plaza ~ Sunshine Madness Video Clips. Duration : 34.40 Mins.

The final part before we get the blue coins! Some of these shines were pretty tough, or annoying at least.. The final shine I collected was particularly annoying.. You need to take a boat ride with Yoshi to the Island to the far reaches of Delfino, there you need to enter the pipe. What follows is an incredibly frustrating level. Miss a coin and you are forced to suicide, or try to miraculously get the red coins without the transport lily. Anyways, if you decide to get through the pipe at the end of the level to save some extra lifes, you will be warped to Delfino Square and you will need to do the whole rangadang again.. Which is tedious, annoying and totally not worth the trouble. Gather some lifes with the endless coin trick in Delfino/ Airstrip and get in to face the challenge! I wish you all great luck! Secret Shine 1 (80) - 0:13 (inside the door to the left) Secret Shine 2 (81) - 1:28 (challenge inside the house with the two guards) Secret Shine 3 (82) - 3:11 (cleaning the bell to the left) Secret Shine 4 (83) - 4:13 (cleaning the bell at the right) Secret Shine 5 (84) - 6:03 (cleaning the shine gate) Secret Shine 6 (85) - 7:20 (uncovering the shine at the beach) Secret Shine 7 (86) - 8:15 (ultra-pounding the sign on the light house) Secret Shine 8 (87) - 9:24 (Slide challenge in the pipe near shines 6 and 7) Secret Shine 9 (88) - 11:23 (Golden Bird at the island across the last three shines) Secret Shine 10 (89) - 12:27 (Crate challenge 1) Secret Shine 11 (90) - 13 ...

Aggressive, Assertive of Passive?

Assertiveness is a method of transportation that lets others know your ideas and feelings, while respecting their feelings as well.

Aggressive

Baby Gate

A someone behaving aggressively states her feelings directly, but she violates the ownership of others. For example, suppose a neighbor asks you to baby-sit her four children and you don't want to. An aggressive response would be to say, "No, I won't baby-sit. You just drop the kids off and don't come back when you say you will and so I end up canceling my plans. And also your kids are brats and don't know how to be quiet when my shows are on." While all of this may be true, your aggressive response may anger your neighbor or hurt her feelings.

Aggressive behavior often produces the desired outcome--at least for the moment. Releasing feelings of anger or frustration can sometimes give a someone a sense of control in the situation. If, however, a someone continually ignores the feelings of others, she may find herself alone and un-liked.

Assertive

An Assertive acknowledge would be honest and direct, but not disrespectful. One such response might be, "No, I'm sorry I can't baby-sit today. If you need me to help you out in the future, I need to have at least a few days consideration so I can fit it into my schedule. I would also need you to work with me to reinforce the rules of my house with the children."

Assertiveness allows individuals to feel good about having expressed their needs, thoughts, or feelings and about making their own choices. Assertive behavior also produces desired results more often. This skill takes practice. By expressing yourself in ways that don't put down or offend others. You are more likely to make your point. Likewise, making your feeling known, instead of retention them hidden, lets others know where they stand.

Passive

When you acknowledge passively, you avoid immediate conflict, but you may be upset and resentful because you haven't expressed your true feelings. A passive response would be to cancel your own plans and take care of the kids.

Just because you give in to someone else doesn't all the time mean you've been passive. It could mean you've made a known option in yielding. Or, it could be because you actually agree with the other person. Being passive refers to consistently doing things you don't want to.

How good are you at communicating your needs? Do you let population know how you're feeling? Or do you expect them to get that facts from reading your mind? If your words say one thing and your body language says another, population will remember and believe the non-verbal clues.

Verbal language is the language of information

Non-verbal language is the language of relationships

Practice Being Self determined and Assertive

My Kinda Party-Jason Aldean w/ lyrics

My Kinda Party-Jason Aldean w/ lyrics Video Clips. Duration : 5.05 Mins.

Song My Kinda Party off of his upcoming album My Kinda Party. Writers:Brantley Gilbert This is the first single from American Country artist Jason Aldean's fourth studio album. Although Aldean didn't write the tune, he told The Boot he feels as if it was custom made for him. "This song is all about workin' for the weekend... my fans work hard, so they can rip it up when Saturday rolls around," he said. "I hope they hear this one and want to turn it up. We put a little extra juice on the electric guitars just for that reason." This was written and originally recorded by Brantley Gilbert, who like Aldean, is a Country singer from Georgia. Gilbert's version appears on his 2009 album Modern Day Prodigal Son. Aldean explained: "The album is named My Kinda Party because it's totally representative of what I like and what my fans have come to expect on my records and at the 'party' we throw at our shows." Aldean explained to The Boot why he chose this as his first single from My Kinda Party: "I think the song is that exact song; it is the song that we always look for to launch an album. For us, we want to come out and push the envelope with that first single and get everybody's attention. It's like, OK, we're coming out with a new album and here's the first single. I think it stands up to the others. Brantley [Gilbert, the song's writer] actually pitched the song for the last album and we just got it late in the game. At the end of recording every album, we have a handful of ...

"The Boy Who Came Back From Heaven" - A Remarkable, True Story of a Child's predicted contact

"The boy who came back from heaven" is the true story of six-year-old Alex Malarkey who was complicated in a terrible car urgency with his father Kevin in November, 2004. Although Kevin was thrown (or carried, agreeing to Alex) from the vehicle, he was basically uninjured. Alex, however, suffered an "internal decapitation" - his skull was no longer attached to his spinal column and he was not expected to survive. No one could predict (and not everyone will believe), how this young boy would amaze his doctors and everyone who knew him or would come in caress with him.

Immediately after the urgency Alex, although unconscious, is very aware of his surroundings. He would remain in a coma for almost two months, yet when he "woke up" he would relate details of the urgency scene that he would have had no way of knowing. Some of these details occurred After Alex had been placed in a helicopter and airlifted to the closest hospital.

Baby Gate

If Alex were to survive, his parents, Kevin and Beth, were told that he would never be able to eat, speak, swallow or breathe on his own. He was also a quadriplegic and the opportunity of severe brain injury was almost certain, meaning that his thinking capacity would be very limited. Faced with this information, Beth confidently told the physician "You are wrong". From the moment of the accident, the power of prayer and the intervention of angels, Jesus - and even God - would take over and finally supervene in a much distinct outcome than healing science can ever explain.

From the paramedic at the urgency scene to complete strangers later on, Alex is the focus of a prayer cycle which is set up with population praying for Alex in his room constantly. This cycle of prayer grows and there are truly hundreds of population (later thousands) complicated in not only prayer, but helping Kevin and Beth with their three other children and the growing list of changes taking place in their lives every day. Their faith and the faith of others keeps them going, although Kevin does admit that there were times (and still are) when that faith is severely tested. The preserve and vigor they receive from strangers keeps them going even today, and possibly this book is their way to reach out to thank those it would be impossible to thank otherwise.

Upon gradually regaining consciousness, Alex learns to relate with his eyes and the projection of his mouth. These were the only things he initially had control over. He at last learns to speak and relates to his mom some astounding incidents that happened to him at the time of the accident. He recalls the crash, and seeing his dad lifted out of the car and placed in the ditch by five angels. He tells his mom that the devil was there, and the devil told him that it was his fault the urgency happened and his dad was dead.

Alex "saw" all of this from outside his body, and he tells his mom that Jesus was there with him seeing after him. Over the policy of the next few months, Alex relates other things that happened to him - things that a six-year-old boy would have strangeness knowing or even imagining. Alex tells his parents that he talked with Jesus and with God, and he describes Heaven for them as best he can. He speaks about angels who visit him, and even tells of hell, which is a hole in Heaven. Although this would be expected to most, Alex's parents are convinced that he is telling the truth, and others who meet Alex are convinced as well.

It would be easy to pass Alex's experiences off as something similar to other near-death explanations, any way his differ from any others that I have ever heard of. He tells of entering the gates of Heaven and truly talking with Jesus and God. He describes angels with six wings, not two as most kids would photograph them, and effortlessly admits that there are some things he cannot describe, and others he is not allowed to tell.

The book is written by Kevin and Alex together. Kevin mentions several times that he is not concerned either or not anything believes what they have witnessed, any way he offers proof in the powerful progress Alex has made, against impossible odds of even surviving. Alex often repeats that he is just a general kid, and what has happened to him is more about God, Jesus and Heaven than it is about him. Today Alex can breathe without a respirator, talk, learn on a computer and he gets nearby with a wheelchair that he operates with his chin. He still has a long way to go, but in my plan he has a lot of help on his side, and the most important help of all - God.

Whether or not you believe in God, Jesus or angels, this book is a powerful story about a six-year-old boy who was faced with a devastating turn of events. His courage and comprehension into life in spite of all the difficulties he has faced is lively no matter what your beliefs are. The jacket cover says that it is a true story, and I believe that it is. If you want to supervene Alex's progress, please go to http://www.PrayForAlex.com.

The primary Accordion Style Baby Gates - A safety Hazard

Looking back and comparing our childhood to that of our children, it becomes apparent that there were many devices used by children that turned out to be very unsafe. When you reconsider things like lawn darts, it often begs the questions, "What were they thinking?" However, there are many things that seemed like a good idea at the time and were used with the best intentions. One of these devices that turned out to be unsafe is the accordion styled baby gate.

The accordion style baby gate was very favorite for many years. Most children growing up prior to the eighties probably remember them. They featured two pieces of wood on either side, which would be attached to the wall or in the middle of a doorway. The middle of the device used many smaller strips of wood, which were hinged, so that the two ends could be brought together or spread apart. This gave it flexibility, because it could be fit into distinct sized areas.

Baby Gate

These gates characterized by the brilliant shape that the slats would form when it was spread out. At the top of the gate, a series of half diamonds would generate a V-shaped zig-zag pattern.

These gates presented any dangers to the child and were a major safety hazard. The child could positively come to be entrapped in the gate if they stuck their head in one of the diamonds or on the top. If the gate became dislodged or even slightly moved, the brilliant could close, catching the child and potentially pinching or causing strangulation.

By February of 1985, fellowships in the United States had stopped manufacturing these gates. Some gates are still colse to that use this produce though, so it is important to all the time avoid using these types of gates.

Federal regulations now need that the distance in the middle of two sections of a V-shaped gate not exceed 1.5 inches and the diamonds must be smaller than the head of a six month old child.

One of the reasons the accordion gate was favorite is because one gate could be used in distinct areas of the home that had distinct widths. Today, pressure gates are available, which offer similar functionality.

These usually are made of two pieces of plastic or wood. Some sort of tensioner, generally a spring, causes the two pieces to be pressed into the edges of the door or the wall. Unlike the earlier version, these usually have a solid edge on top. While a pressure gate is much safer than the brilliant shaped accordion gates, they are fairly easy to break free. Even the most well designed pressure gate is going to come loose finally and an adventurous toddler can knock it down.

You should never rely only on a gate to protect your child from dangers like the stairs, but a pressure gate requires more attention, since they can be knocked down rather easily. usually a hardware mounted gate is recommended. These come with mounting brackets that are physically secured to the wall. The gate can then be snapped into the brackets where it will be held in place. Most of these will wing open, to furnish temporary passage or taken down, while leaving the brackets in place.

Flying With Your Baby Stroller - 10 Easy Tips For Boarding a Plane With Your Stroller

For many parents the idea of traveling with an infant or toddler can be overwhelming to say the least. The estimate of indispensable items for the ease and security of a child must all the time be considered before you go. One of the most tasteless dilemma's when flying with a child is either or not to bring along your baby stroller.

A baby stroller can be a big help on a trip that will entail a good deal of walking or transporting a young child. However, be sure to remember to check out either or not your destination will be stroller-friendly along the way.

Baby Gate

Here are 10 tips for flying with a baby stroller.

1. Make an educated decision about bringing a baby stroller. First check with your airline for their policies on bringing along a baby stroller. This may decide either or not you will reconsider it a hassle or an asset for your trip.

2. Know the area you will be walking around. reconsider the terrain, the width of the aisles and doorways as well as the estimate of stairs you may be field to climb. Pushing a stroller on a bumpy stone path or transporting it between subway rides may well be more difficult than naturally carrying your child.

3. Before you even get to the airport be sure to properly label your stroller (on the deal with bar or side bars) with a permanent mark or paper label. Write down your contact information, destination and flight information. You will be given a tag when you check your stroller but it is good to use Both to insure you get your stroller back once you have landed.

4. Have a Plan B for those times when you will need to leave your stroller outside or in the trunk. For babies that weigh no more than 20/30 lbs. Keeping a baby carrier, sling or backpack is a good second option. For older children who can walk themselves, reconsider a harness to keep them tied to you in crowds and strange places. If you do not like the idea of a harness for your child just be sure to start explaining to them a small each day about the significance of staying next to you or other caregivers when you are in a distinct place. They should understand who it is safe to talk to and give them something that has your contact information to wear when you are out in public.

O.K. Now you are ready to head to the airport!

5. It will be easiest to hire your stroller throughout the airport and just check it at the gate of the plane. Most airlines will let you range right on up to the gate of the plane before having to check it in.

6. If you would like to count your stroller with your luggage at check-in be sure to find out if you will be charged an extra fee. Some airlines do not count a baby stroller as a part of the luggage you are allowed to bring on and may have a rate that you do not want to pay.

7. If you are loading at the gate you will be asked to remove your child yourself and fold the stroller down to be stored. (It is nice to have a helping hand available to hold your child(ren) during this part.) Bringing duct tape is a good idea if your stroller isn't compact adequate to store in the overhead compartment on the plane. naturally tape the sides of the stroller shut tightly or wrap the stroller entirely around it's center. This will help to keep it complete while it is being loaded and unloaded into the cargo area therefore minimizing potential damage.

8. Your stroller will then be tagged and given a corresponding receipt that you will need to hold on to, in order to retrieve your stroller once you land.

9. Be sure to confirm with the attendant at the gate check where you will pick up your stroller upon landing. Most airlines will return your stroller at the gate as you exit but it could be sent along with the other luggage to the baggage claim.

10. Upon your exit present your receipt to claim your stroller or head to the baggage claim to retrieve it there. Remember to take advantage of your stroller and load it down with anyone baggage you can to alleviate the strain on your arms and shoulders.

It is important to note that if you are bringing a light umbrella stroller that can be folded compactly adequate to fit into your overhead carrier (find out the dimensions from the airline) you will not need to gate check your stroller. naturally fold it and carry it to your seat. There are inescapable things you may want to reconsider before selecting between your lightweight,.standard stroller and your heavier, fancier stroller. Here is a list of pro's and con's for both.

Basic Umbrella Stroller- between 10-13 lbs.

Pro's:

Compact, easy to fold and store. Lightweight and easier to carry if you have to. Can likely be stored in overhead of airplane so there is less chance for damage during the flight. Cheaper to replace should you have any damage. Easier fit through appropriate doorways, aisles, sidewalks and stairs.
Con's:

Not much warehouse to hold bags, or toys or anyone acquired during an outing. Not as no ifs ands or buts maneuvered on rocky or difficult roads or terrain.
The Big Stroller- The One With All the Fixin's!

Pro's:

Good estimate of warehouse for diaper bags, purses and shopping bags. Ordinarily has a canopy and plenty of accessories to entertain and safe from the sun or rain. Much easier to maneuver due to the bigger wheels and design. May be compatible with the car seat you are using or renting, therefore manufacture a unblemished tour system.
Con's:

Takes up more space in trunks on sidewalks or buses. Heavier to carry. Needs to be stored with luggage on plane.

Based on this list you should pick the stroller that you feel will serve you and your child the best. There is nothing like having a stroller to help out when it comes to toting your children. A stroller is the next most important item to the crib when it comes to having a baby.

Empower Your Child To follow - Teach Him/Her How To Think Independently, And Say No(When Necessary)

Before entering my teens, my "social competence", especially where it had to do with reasoning independently, and handling peer pressure - needed work, but I did not know it. ("Social Competence", is one of a estimate of skills described by Dr. Daniel Goleman as an aspect of "Emotional Intelligence" - in his similarly titled best selling book) .

At ten, I began leaving home daily, on my own, to attend secondary school quite some length away(three bus rides, commonly persisting an hour or more, to or fro). Within One year, I got into trouble by "blindly" following some class mates to do things that I knew were wrong, but which I felt compelled to do, in order to avoid getting rejected, and being called names like "coward, wet blanket, book worm" etc.

Baby Gate

Let me share two stories of how being ineffective in handling my relationships made me engage in unbecoming show the way - and finally got me into trouble. In the first story, I recap bad activities I engaged in, without getting caught. The second story describes an instance in which I (along with others from the first story) did get caught, with serious consequences.

The purpose here is to show you how indeed my lack of proficiency in managing my relationships and knowing myself(who I was/wanted to be), lead me - and could lead any child with a similar inadequacy - to get into trouble.

Story One - I Join A "Bad" Group That Bullies, Steals And Cheats

During my first day in secondary school at the age of ten, I discovered that age (and perhaps my increase rate then) put me at corporeal disadvantage compared to most of my new classmates. Virtually all of them were a head or shoulder taller than I was - and some were much older, and quite big! I fast became a target for the big bullies in the school.

But, as time went on, some of them took a dissimilar kind of interest in me because they saw I always got good grades - while they tended not to. So, they would safe me from other bullies in class or school (especially while lunch breaks), and in transfer I would help them with their homework etc. It all started harmlessly adequate until they began to examine that I pass them my acknowledge script while the exams so they could copy from it into theirs, before I could submit to the teacher. I was so naive, that I even understanding it was fun, and never imagined what would happen if we got caught.

Looking back, I think deep within myself, I enjoyed the feeling of being favoured by these big boys who were feared by most students - even teachers - and I would probably have done anyone to preserve my priviledged "membership" of their group. At a point, our group come to be so notorious that we even left the school's premises every once in a while to eat meals or buy things we never paid for!

For instance, we would go to a local food vendor(called "Mai Shai"), and ask to be served bread with fried eggs and tea for instance, for each person. After eating up, the big boys would ask me to walk away, while they used their sizes and mean looks, to intimidate the poor trader, before suddenly taking to their heels. Stories about these "feats" soon spread - leading to others in the school nicknaming me "Kukuru Danger"(literally translated to mean "small, but hazardous one")! Note that all of what I said here was never at any point noticeable when I was at home with my siblings and parents.

I was always the good boy who did as he was told, and never caused any trouble - at least not at home! Which is why you might want to get a little closer to your child, and try to construct a personal relationship with him/her. This closeness could encourage him/her to open up - more easily - to you in a way that would facilitate timely intervention in anyone s/he is doing that could want your help and experience-based coaching.

Story Two - The Group Gets Caught For Cheating In An Exam

During the third term exams, I and my "big" classmates finally got caught: the trainer noticed an unusual similarity in the answers written by all five of us, and reported to the Principal. For about two weeks, we faced a panel of investigation individually, at least twice per person. To show you how "unaware" of the implications of my actions I was, I never once in those two weeks of facing the panel said anyone about it to my parents, right until the last day of school when my mom drove down to pick me up, and also get my report card.

I'll never forget the look of nightmare on her face that afternoon, when she saw that despite scoring nearly all A's in the promotional exams, the Principal's handwritten comments, instead of being congratulatory, were: "To repeat for cheating while the exams"! (The panel had confirmed that I had given out my script to my classmates to copy, and even though agreeing that I had not copied from anyone, held me equally guilty of cheating, like the others - and rightly so).

If my mom was upset, I struggle to think of a word that best describes how my dad reacted when he learnt what had happened. To cut the long story short, my parents decided to withdraw me from that school and sent me to boarding school in an additional one city, over six(6) hours away from home, where I started my secondary schooling all over again. That sobering contact has lived with me till this day, as has an additional one that occurred later(Oh yes, there was "another" - Kids never seem to learn it all at once!). Those experiences, any way paid huge dividends, in the sense that my memories of them helped me successfully overcome so many temptations that could have gotten me into spectacular trouble later on in my adult personal/work life.

Having said the foregoing, I will re-iterate that not everyone will be lucky to walk away, "in one piece", after inspiring in childhood truancy or other bad behaviour. Which is why coaching your child to learn how to deal with him/herself in relation to peers, and older persons, is a crucial necessity for you as a parent. Every time I see each of my kids, I cannot help recalling the mistakes I made while growing up, and how I was so blind to their possibility or the severity of their consequences, before I made them. This memory makes me stay resolved towards preparing my kids to do a great job of making mistakes, than I did as a child.

But They Will Make Their Own Mistakes Too

No doubt about that. In fact, it is leading that they make Their Own mistakes, because mistake making is itself an considerable requirement for a person's balanced development. And just as it is leading to help your child avoid making those you can anticipate(based on Your past experiences), how you react to the mistakes s/he does make, is even more important.

Don't make too much of a big deal about it when(not If) it happens. Express your displeasure, but avoid making absolute statements like "You'll never estimate to anything", or recalling every mistake s/he's made in the past at the slightest prompting. Failure to heed this warning can have a powerfully devastating supervene on the frail mind of a young child, which could supervene in long persisting damage to his/her self-esteem. Most leading intuit To Take Heed Of This Warning: You could, indeed speaking, drive him/her away from you, at a time when s/he is most considerable of your forgiveness, and understanding. S/he could as a supervene stop confiding in you, and finally get into even bigger trouble!

Everything I have said here, together with the advice I offer, is based on my very personal experiences, and observations of real-life experiences of others, some close to adequate to be called "family".

So, How distinct Are You Of Your Child's potential To Stand Up To Peer Pressure?

This is an leading examine because:

(a). You will Not always be there to stop him/her from being exposed to negative influences.

(b). You cannot hide him/her away at home for ever.

That leaves you only one option: teach him/her How to conduct relationships effectively such that peers or friends know his/her position on relevant issues and respect it.

But maybe I should start by asking if You know how to say No yourself? Many adults will recall some point in their past lives when because they felt the need to Not appear "un cool", they consented to doing wrong things - ending up feeling miserable(I hope!) for days or weeks afterwards.

The inability to say "No" and stick to it when population try to get us to do what we feel conflicts with our values, can often get one into trouble. When some population know that you do not know how to(or cannot) say No to them, they can play on that feebleness to take benefit of you. If you fail to deal with this inadequacy in your personality, your kids are likely to pick it up - and come to be "weaklings" for others to prey on at school or in life.

Incidentally, you can even say No without indeed saying it - i.e through your actions. For instance, when "they" ask you to "join them", you could say "I'll catch up with you later!", knowing you have no intention of doing any such thing. When next you do see them, you can offer a well understanding out excuse for missing it. Soon enough, they'll stop asking you.

Signs That advise You Have Not Taught Your Child How To Say No

If you always feel you need to be nearby to stop your child from being influenced to do the wrong things(e.g. You find it difficult to let him/her go far away from you with peers).

If you are never distinct that your child has adequate powers of discernment to Know when s/he should not do a singular thing, then you need to be Very worried: You Have Not Empowered your child to function as an independent-minded person.

Kids are impressionable - that's true. But they can be successfully taught to be more discriminating in their selection of friends, or role models/heroes in a manner that is consistent with accepted values.

The Role You Need To Play As A Parent

"Think for yourselves and let others enjoy the privilege to do so, too." - Voltaire

I indeed believe that the best gift any parent can give a child is to teach her how to think for herself, and say No, when it becomes considerable to do so, in order to ensure she achieves her desired goals consistently, and with integrity.

I know this because I had to regain those abilities the hard way as I grew up. Never assume your child is familiar with, or already competent to deal with any potentially unsettling life problem or situation, until you have sufficiently interacted with him/her to assure yourself of that fact.

Also, Do Not Ever consider it too much work to make out potential time to deliberately but tactfully coach him or her, to deal with inherent dilemmas you know from contact s/he may be confronted with at times when s/he may not have ready passage to you. Generate the opportunities to do this yourself, if they do not appear often enough. (I call doing this Spontaneous Coaching for Self-Development(Tm)).

If you do not do the above, you might just regret it. In my case I was able to walk away in the instances earlier mentioned, with an chance to start over(for which I remain eternally grateful to my parents and teachers). Not every one will be lucky to have a second chance(s). Which is why you might want to use the ideas I offer below, to give your child the best inherent stab at success.

What Does It Take To Say No - And Think Independently?

1. Real-World Relevant Intelligence: Robert Kiyosaki shared his Rich Dad's definition of intelligence as "The potential to make finer distinctions". I believe that definition has universal relevance. To be able to say No when necessary, one must construct the potential to "look" beyond the distinct in order to excerpt correct interpretations, and deduce accepted implications.

As I like to tell population "Sometimes the distinct thing is Not necessarily the correct or most leading thing". One way to understand this is to fantasize you are a police detective assigned to a murder investigation. You wouldn't accept all "evidence" on face value, and risk putting the wrong man in jail for a crime s/he did not commit - would you? Same applies here. Help your child to construct real-world relevant intelligence by teaching him/her to always look at issues with an open mind, from a multi-dimensional perspective. She will learn more that way, and increase her chances of success.

2. Wholesome Self-Esteem Level: A strong knowledge and sense of self. As a nine year old, Bill Gates reportedly knew himself well adequate to pronounce to a house friend that "I can do anyone I set my mind to". A child who thinks this way is not likely to want to impress others(or avoid being mocked), by joining them to do something s/he does not want to do. Encourage your child to think this way.

3. Strong Values, Vision, and Purpose: Knowing that what's "popular" may Not be "good". And that "consensus" does Not equal "truth". Plus, being aware of what one's leading goals are, will help a man conclude when to say No. Let your child Know this truth: If everyone is saying it's okay to do something you know deep inside your heart is not, you Must supervene your heart, not them.

4. Deliberate Exposure/Education: A little openness in answering questions about those curiosity-arousing issues(e.g. Sex, Drugs etc) will likely demystify them, and sacrifice his/her chances of seeking answers elsewhere(without your knowledge!). Cover it up in secrecy, and the child's curiosity intensifies, making her more willing to join others in "exploring" it when you're not there. Don't shush your child up when s/he gets inspiring about sensitive subjects.

5. Knowing That Age Has Nothing To Do With It: Older persons do not always do things in the interest of younger persons. Adults know this. Yet cultural norms sometimes cause us to set our children up(by asking them to show respect and be obedient) to be exploited by irresponsible adults. Teach your child what s/he can say No to(and when/how), even if an adult is the one making a ask of him/her. It could just save his/her life some day.

I strive daily to teach my kids how to think for themselves, and say No(when necessary). It's the Most leading form of schooling I believe I can give them. What about you?
